Dancing Spirit Ranch has a wonderful collection of buildings to house and feed you, but its finest amenities can be found outdoors.
There are five ponds to explore. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for floating on the largest 14-acre pond, as well as fishing poles for those wanting to cast a line. There is a forest to wander through. The trail system exceeds five miles over gentle terrain. Bird watching is a favored pastime as the tall grasses and ponds attract a wide assortment of winged life. There are seventeen benches along the way, each affording a different view of ponds, grassy valleys or rock formations. It is most engaging to wonder why each particular bench site was chosen.
The fire pit is a perfect place to end the day with friends and family under the stars of Big Sky Country. The ranch’s surrounding mountains dominate the trails, and there are astounding views through the notch into the Great Bear Wilderness and Glacier Park. Over 1000 trees have been planted and the turning leaves provide a wealth of fall colors. Wintertime provides a chance to cross country ski and snowshoe throughout the ranch. Sometimes it is even possible to skate on the frozen ponds. The ranch is located on Whitefish River where guests can kayak at their leisure.
